Overview:
The Introducing Mindfulness course offers a gentle and supportive way to begin exploring mindfulness. Created by the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation — a leading centre for research into evidence-based mindfulness — this course provides a safe, trusted, and caring introduction to mindfulness practices. You’ll be guided through simple ideas and exercises that can help you pause, breathe, and reconnect with a sense of steadiness, even when life feels busy or stressful. The course is designed to be welcoming and easy to follow, especially if you are completely new to mindfulness. It’s for anyone who is curious about mindfulness and looking for practical ways to support their wellbeing in everyday life and work — helping you meet challenges with greater calm, kindness, and clarity About the Course: If you’re new to mindfulness — or returning to it after some time away — our 3-week Introducing Mindfulness course offers a gentle and welcoming place to begin. It’s designed to give you a simple, reassuring introduction to mindfulness practice and ideas, without pressure or expectation. Meeting once a week for three weeks, the course invites you to explore three key themes, each chosen to help you feel more supported in everyday life:
|
|
The key learning points include:
- Developing an understanding of your “window of attention” and learning how to use it more intentionally in daily life.
- Cultivating present-moment awareness through structured and accessible mindfulness practices.
- Recognising habitual “auto-pilot” patterns and gradually developing a more mindful and responsive way of being.
Course Format:
The sessions are delivered online via Zoom in a welcoming and supportive group environment. Each session offers clear guidance, gentle mindfulness practices, and time for discussion and reflection, helping you feel supported as you learn.
The course develops gradually from week to week, allowing you to build confidence at a comfortable pace. Between sessions, you will be invited to explore the themes through simple home practice, in a way that fits into your daily life.
Course Materials:
Participants will receive a range of materials to support their learning, including course handouts, guided meditation recordings, and recommended reading to underpin the techniques introduced in the sessions.
